Sassoon Dock is one of the largest fish markets in Mumbai and one of the few docks in the city open to the public. Constructed in 1875, the dock was the first wet dock made in Bombay and is now the oldest in Mumbai.

The catch is unloaded from the fishing boats and changes owners many times before it reaches the streets and restaurants around Mumbai. The further from the dock, the more expensive it gets. The trade and customs are passed down through generations. When being on the premises, there is nothing to suggest one is in a metropolitan city.
